Photos from Jake’s graduation day. I am so proud of him for making it through BCT. He is currently stationed in Monterey will where he will go through his AIT to become a cryptological linguist. I am so happy for him. I am glad he finally feels like he is achieving something big defending our country. It will be tough and long journey but I am happily going along on the ride. I already miss him like crazy but am beyond lucky to have him so close to home for his AIT. I am proud to call this soldier mine and will gladly support him til the end of his service. ♥
On August 27th, the day I had waited 75 days for had finally come. Flying over to Oklahoma just to see Jake for family day and his graduation was more than worth it. These are pictures from Family day. He was so handsome in his ASU’s and walking alongside him hand in hand made me feel beyond lucky.

Today is the day. I don’t know if you guys have noticed the countdown on my blog but today is the day I leave for Oklahoma with just a select few of some of the greatest people in my life to go see one of the most important people in my life graduate from Army BCT. I’ve waited 75 days to get on this plane today and seeing him tomorrow will be well worth it. Let’s just say I am beyond excited and thrilled. It seems so unbelievable.

fat cat running
look at him… look at how deliberate each step and movement is. look at how mathematically perfect that 90 degree corner turn was… this cat is on another level far beyond us all
This is Chester. When I was in Afghanistan I got a care package from one of those “Adopt a Soldier” programs that lets families send care packages to service men and women who are deployed overseas. Anyway, I got this care package, and it came with the usual stuff: Baby wipes, crackers, peanut butter, the Dad threw in a pack of cigarettes, and there was some jerky. But there was also a little beanie baby gold fish and a hand written note from a 7 year old girl that said
“Dear Soldier, (I wasn’t even mad)
I hope you are doing well. I’m sorry you have to miss thanksgiving with your family. This is my friend Chester. He keeps me safe from monsters, but I think you need him more than I do. I hope he keeps you safe from the monsters you’re fighting. Take good care of him for me”.
You bet your ass that little fish was in my pocket every time I went on patrol.

do you ever hear a line in a song and it’s just so painfully clever you just sit there in shock for the remainder of the song
